CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

Alaska extra claw error

    Hi,

    Can you direct me to information on the extra claw error. I've seen several which look like die breaks. But the one in the attached photo seems to be the result of an intentional extra claw. Especially, where the second claw crosses the first claw.

    Looks like a die gouge or a die dent.

      Yep, your right. I was able to find info on the web which said the same thing. It also warned me that some of these show up on e-bay in the $20 - 30 dollar range, and to save my money.
