    2006 Lincoln Cent

I recently found this 2006 Lincoln cent with "globs" on both E's on the reverse in One Cent. Also, in on the "E" in One, there is a crack going directly down and up where the glob is. Can anybody comment on this? It is hard to see in pics the actual crack, but took the pcs best I could.

    Thanks

From the pictures I can see the "globs" but cannot make out what they are. More than likely they are chips that have formed on the die itself and from your description, this is probably an old die that is getting ready to be replaced.

While die chips/breaks are not as common today compared to the former years of the Lincoln cent, they still do occur (especially in the formative year 2009 cent).

They are definitely die chips and die cracks. Thank you for the better pictures.
