    Die chip progression

Found these 2 Sacagaweas in change. Just wondering if this a Die Chip Progression. These 2 coins are 2000 D Sacagawea Dollar. Could this be similar to the Wounded Eagle variety? If it is we will name this one the Trained Eagle. Thank you for the help.

It's a die crack. The part of the design circumscribed by the crack seems slightly elevated, indicating this part of the die sank in slightly. This sort of die failure has been seen before on cents and nickels. The so-called "wounded eagle" is a pair of die gouges.
