2000D Doubled Obverse (Ear, bust, lid, etc)

    Hello ALL,
Pls comment on the strong 2ndary whole earlobe on the cheek (and the other following noted doublings) if there genuine ones. There are other 2 weak ear images below the primary lobe but I didn't hilite. Eyelids are doubled, too, in addition to the whole bust perimeter doublings, with strong doublings in the neck, tie, coat. IGWT reperesentative doubling (or tripling - separation and split???) is shown by 'S'.

Not pictured are short trails that are present from the primaries of the doubled 'LIBERTY '. Reverse EPU is doubled. Strong short trails in left/right bays; and long ones from mid-bays cutting past thru the middle steps.

    Thank you.

I see nothing of interest on this coin.

I think I see what you mean on the cheek, but the mark there doesn't seem to correspond exactly with the line contours of the ear, so something else is likely the culprit. *e* Correction, was getting things confused. Per http://koinpro.tripod.com/Articles/O...OfDoubling.htm , the S looks like strike/machine doubling.

        All,

My mistake that may have led you to quickly conclude no doubled ear is present. The doubling is not actually the whole ear but only the lower portion of the earlobe (as expected being the highest point of the design).
        Have attached clarification photo.

Someone needs to trade their scope in on a book which specifically defines the different classes of doubled die, how they are created and which also defines what die deterioration doubling.

Ah Novicetoerr, I see that you are back. From your pictures, it appears to be a mild case of machine doubling.
