CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Patrick - I am not familiar with that doubled die. However, from the picture, it does appear to be a doubled die. Check John Wexler's site; he does have a few listed with pictures.

        i looked at the pics

I looked over at Wexler....the ones he shows dont match this one.

I was hoping Mr.Wiles would look at the pic because he might have seen this one before.

"strong spread on upper nostril" would seem to me to mean the other nostril, just from a positional standpoint. I'm not familiar with the specifics of that listing so I may be wrong on that one, hopefully Mr. Wiles will drop in here.

            outer nostril not inner

i missed the word "outer" in the actual description.

actually the description says: "strong spread on upper OUTER nostril"

Ah, yeah that makes a bit of a difference. Seems to fit the description, but I'll defer to those who've had one of the described ones in hand.
