  • 1976 Half and 1981 Lincoln...DDO or Doubling?

    Hello to everyone....

We found a 1976 Bicentennial Kennedy Half dollar and 1981 Lincoln cent with obverse Doubling. Are these coins DOUBLING or DOUBLE DIES? Thanks jmcoinz

Collecting is time consuming, but at the end it's worth every penny!

These both appear to be caused by deteriorating dies.

Die deterioration doubling on the first, machine doubling on the second.

These are perfect classic examples of die deterioration doubling (DDD) on a clad coin and again a perfect example of machine doubling (MD) on the Lincoln.
