CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Can anyone tell me about these coins?
    On the wheat coin, there is a raised image of lincoln on the right side. I have two of these.
    between the poles there is a square object in a slant on the left side of the coin, maybe his jacket.
    on the morgan there are initials across, who would destroy a coin like this?

    On the lincoln , I see there is a die clash.You may want to check out Maddisclashes.com..It will give you alot of inside..

      As coin-crazy said, the reverse face of the Lincoln cent shows clash marks from the obverse die (part of the outline of Lincoln's bust).

      As to why the Morgan dollar was defaced, you'd have to ask the perpetrator (who's probably long-dead).
