CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Maybe a new variety of the 1951 D/S Wheat Cent

    This coin just really appears to be a legitimate D over S. The S is clear and of the right size and shape. What do you think?

    Your pictures are not adequate to support a D/S mint mark.

      I am not seeing a D/S either. Such an OMM needs some solid proof in the form of overlays showing the characteristics to be similar to one of the S MMs used that year...

        I see what you're talking about even in the small pics. Does it show up better in-hand, holding it at just the right angle to make the "alleged S" more prominent?
