    1938 D Buffalo D/D Looks D/D/D/ Need Help

I sent three MS66 1938 D Buffalo Nickels which were in the old line fattie slabs to NGC for regrading and Variety Plus. Two came back as MS67 D/D and the other one is an MS66 D/D. All Three are slabbed as FS-502. After looking at photos taken by Todd Pollack you can clearly see D/D/D. They are also very distinct using a 10x loupe. The coins were sent back to NGC for designation review and the FS-504 label. I received a call from NGC today stating that the FS-502 is correct and there is no D/D/D in that classification. I stated that Coneca has a D/D/D listed on their web site in the FS-504. It was explained to me that my coins are FS-502 so there is no D/D/D/. My question is. Do i just let it go or can i send the coin or coins to a Coneca expert to see if i am correct? Thank you for letting me rattle on for my first post.

NGC got it right. It's definitely FS-502 (CONECA RPM-002).

All of the 1938-D RPMs from the CPG are pictured on Variety Vista.

Thank you for your response. I agree it is an FS-502 but why can't they slab this coin as a D/D/D? It sure looks like it.
