I picked it up, dug through the new listings and saw the listing for the 69/70/70d RDV-002/reverse of proof 68 dime. After going through about 3 full cereal bowls worth of dimes, sorting by decade, I came up with a 69, a 70 and 2 70d's of the variety. They're definitely not mint state examples as they came out of pocket change that's been building up over the years, but there's no mistaking them and it was neat that a complete set came out of the pile.
The funny thing is that I actually wound up with more of the variety than I did of the "standard" reverse for that combination of year/mm. CPG seemed to indicate it was a very newly known variety that seemed rare so far, but I wonder if that might be due to the fact it's only recently known. Anyone else out there looking for these and if so are they showing up, or do I need to do a whole lot more cash business involving dimes as change with my local merchants?
