CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1985 D RPM Jefferson

Has this 1985 D RPM Jefferson been atributed by anyone? I cannot find any others on any of the other coin sites.

    Thanks in advance....your newest member.

Okay let me rephrase the question. Does anybody have one of these RPM's and if so do they have any value. Wow tons of lookers but no replies....guess its a new variety.

    Thanks

Well, first off, it needs to be attributed as an actual RPM and not Machine Doubling.

If it were my coin, I'd send it off to CONECA for a decision.

Thanks for the reply, I have seen enough MD to recognize it. This is a pretty straight forward RPM...I see no need to send it off to be atributed.

        Thanks

There may be no need to send it off to be attributed...but you should send it in to get it listed.

Looks like an RPM, but I would compare this coin with a few others of the same date to make sure the MM style is similar and we aren't looking at some die erosion. I'd say getting it listed may improve its value, especially if time proves this variety scarce.

                Could you please help me?

I'm trying to determine the nature of a few coins. I posted pictures of them in the General forum under the title "Can't believe my eyes", because well, I have no idea what I'm doing. I just picked up coins that looked out of place from an antique dealer. I'm reading an error coins book right now, but sometimes it helps to have outside opinions.

                Thank you,
                Will
