CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Comments on this one anybody. The initials are polished clean off, not even a trace of letter bulges just die scratches.

    No definitive answer here, but at least it's a comment. I see a lot of metal flow from a late die state around the monticello where the FG would be. Plus the obverse seems to suggest this coin has seen some circulation. I would keep the coin if I were you, but I don't think there would be a whole lot of value with a later die state coin like this and in the lower condition. The initials may just have been faint to begin with and worn away through circulation.

      Thanks NUM I most likely will just hang onto it. I hear the 69D no FG might be pulled from the next edition of Cherrypickers.
