Thank you for your response wavy steps. I have read the article many times. It refers to reverse die varieties. My question asked about type B obverses. It seems apparent that if the mint used proof reverses for circulation strikes, that they would also have used obverse proof dies as well. New research may have revealed a way to determine if a business strike quarter was made using a proof die. One thought that I had, was that the proof dies may have produced a crisper or enhanced portion of the obverse, which would have been lacking in the usual business strikes. Hopefully, this clarifies my question. Thanks for all you do for us.
