1929 S Lincoln cent question?

Just wondering if this is caused by Die Fatigue or excessive Die Polish. Your opinion is appreciated.

The obverse is the most notable with top of letters spread running into the rim. The reverse is the same way but not as predominate.

The S mint mark and date shows a spread but not so much.

The coin grade I believe to be EF. THX Ed

This is a very worn working die that is approaching the end of its useful life. What you see is metal flow lines from the continued use of this die.
