  • 1966 Special Mint Set Dime DDO?

I just purchased a 1966 Special Mint Set today and it appears as though the dime and the Kennedy half are a double die. I am fairly new to coin collecting and would greatly appreciate your opinion and how you came to that conclusion. I have a long way to go and so much to learn; thank you for your patience, time, and help in advance!

P.S. Kennedy DDO (?) photos to follow shortly!

To be honest, I do not see any doubling that would indicate a doubled die.

It appears as though your dime exhibits mechanical or strike doubling. As for the half, there are many DDO known for this particular half and you may indeed have one. One of the key diagnostics is to look and see if there is any doubling on the front of Kennedy's profile especially around the chin and neck area.
If you have a question, please ask. Remember, there are no stupid questions.....just stupid people who ask questions.
