CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2005 OR Quarter possible doubling

    Please look at the attached photos of "Crater Lake". I think there is notching in the upper right corner of some of the lettering. and the "E" are miss shaped (different). May this be some doubling?

    I would suggest sending your images to either James Wiles or John Wexler and garner their opinion.

    There does appear to be some distortion and slight notching on some of the letters which would indicate the possibility of this being a doubled die.

        I'm not sure about this coin but it may be worth getting checked out. there are already a few awesome DDR coins listed for the Oregon quarters. I'm the proud owner of the Oregon DDR 001 discovery coin.

          I sent the coin to Mr. Wiles last week and he designated it: DDR-006, 6-R-VI, Stage A, EDS. Hopefully it will be on his web site soon.
