Then I got to looking at the coin and it has a "Wide AM" in America. Then the "oldTimers" set in and I know there are 1992-P & D error coins with "Close AM"'s made from Proof dies. Now I am confused, does the 1992 S Proof Lincoln Penny have a "Wide AM" or "Close AM" because this Proof coin has a "Wide AM"? But, I do not find any mention of this in the error books.

1992-S Lincoln Penny
Here is a 1992-S Proof Lincoln Penny that looks to have die abrasions on the flats of the Obverse and Reverse. It is in a 1992 Prestige set. At first blush it looks like Orange Peel surface but on close inspection the pattern has parallel lines indicating abrasions.

No Wide AM
Since there are no Close "AM"'s on the business coins, there are no Close "AM"'s on the proof coins, therefore there should be NO Close "AM"'s possible on this date, but in the book "Strike It Rich with Pocket Change" on page 93 and page 94 it shows Close "AM"'s of the 1992 P and 1992 D. Anyone care to explain how this is possible???

A simple search using Google or Bing would have produced the answer you seek. For instance: http://www.lincolncentresource.com/F...2DcloseAM.htmlMike Diamond. Error coin writer and researcher.
