CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

2005 D Kansas Quarter Hoof ?

    2005 D Kansas Quarter Hoof ?

    I read under new finds on CONECA of Proof Kansas Quarters with a hoof on Bison's leg to post if any had been found. I just spotted a 2005 D in pocket change with a similar mark in the same area except looks like they are facing north with 1 large and a small one below it . I was looking for the Obv mark of the new find Dropped letter T above the QR . I see a small gouge there but it looks iffy at best .DSC01592.jpg

    Looks like a large abrasion mark to me (damaged coin after minted). This is the proof variety. It's raised.
