CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

      That would be a sad day to spill coffee lol. Nah the Obverse looks burnt from the heat and I don't drink hot coffee lol.

        I'd disagree with burning and suggest a stain of some sort.

          Thank you. I will chalk it up that someone stired their coffee with it and had lots of cream and sugar .

            I was at a free coffee station at U of M Hospital recently where they held the pot off the heating element (whatever they call it) with pennies. I have no idea of why but those pennies were pretty well stained.

              Hi Ken that makes since . Most of my coins that have been grease filled the grease color is green in color . My avatar picture is a 1864 2 c and you can see the green color of the grease in that . Its so distorted in the design I was lucky to even read the date and Liberty.
