Good observation, James. It does look like there's a narrow fissure separating the design rim from a narrow ridge internal to the fissure. It's certainly possible that someone tried to fake a wide AM variety by fitting the reverse of a coin in which this design is common or normal into a more recent cent. In other words, the same technique used to make a magician's coin. Alameda321 should weigh the coin and inspect the suspicious area under a microscope.Mike Diamond. Error coin writer and researcher.

I agree with James' observation. It is a wide AM, however, since this seems to be the only one found and the presence of a fissure along the rim, I would suspect that it was faked or a magician's coin.
