CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Need help from fellow collectors

Greetings, For those who do not know who I am, my name is Edward Fletcher, the author of the Shield Nickel Reference. Several folks at FUN told me it was time to begin working on the second edition of this reference and the work has begin. I wish to redo the layout of the entire book and that means re-shooting varieties I already have listed as well as any variety, CUD, or error not shown. For this reason, I am asking for your help. If anyone has any shield nickel varieties or errors in their collections (no matter the grade), I would like the opportunity to examine and photograph them for possible inclusion in the 2nd edition. A post office box has been set up for this project. Send any coins to Edward Fletcher, P.O.Box 928, Edgewater, Fl 32132. You can also contact me via email at eflet38711@cfl.rr.com

    Many thanks.

Thanks, I posted there yesterday. I thought there might be a few collectors who don't frequent the yahoo site and don't want anyone to feel left out.
