1955D WASHINGTON QUARTER WRPM-002?
I am looking at yet another 1955D Washington Quarter that appears to be a stage 'B' or later WRPM-002. I believe the first coin I posted was a Stage 'A' coin as the die markers were more pronounced than this coin. This shape and position of the mint mark seems correct. The die markers present on the subject coin are Obverse Stage B: Die scratch at TRUST is still present (although not as pronounced). Die scratch from the nose is weaker (as in non-existant). Gouges below the nose are weaker. Reverse Stage B: Die scratch at AMERICA is abraded and is V-shaped (only the Right side of the 'V;' is left). Die scratch at QUARTER is abraded away. Die crack along the outer side of the eagle’s right wing positioned below "U N I T E D". When you put the two coins (this one and the previously posted WRPM-002) side by side they look like twins! Thoughts or comments?Last edited by rbroederer; 08-24-2021, 05:16 PM.Tags: None
