CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1964 Kennedy Half Dollar, FS-101(13.2)

Hello, I am new to Variety Vista and this is my first post. I stumbled upon varieties in the Kennedy half dollar series (and other modern series) and was directed to Variety Vista by a gentleman at Vamworld. I've collected on and off for 50 years, and I've liquidated much of my collection (I collected silver dollars mostly).

What brings me to Variety Vista is a 1964 P mint set with the Kennedy half dollar pictured. I believe it is a FS-101(13.2). The dime in the set is also heavily doubled on the obverse in date, motto, and LIBERTY and I believe that Roosevelt dime variety to be a 1964 DDO-002, PR-2-O-V-CCW from K-10. (I do not know what PR-2-O-V-CCW from K-10 means, and I did not include any photos of the dime here.)

Because the coins are enclosed in the government cellophane packaging they look flawless, and I believe they would be graded in high mint state condition; however, I'm not sure anyone would have an interest in these varieties even in high grade. I don't see these varieties listed in the PCGS Price Guide (in the "drop downs" where some varieties can be seen), so maybe these varieties are still a bit too unknown or esoteric to attract buyers. Because I have not submitted many coins to third party grading ("TPG") firms, I don't even know if a TPG would put "FS-101(13.2)" on the holder label.

Feel free to comment on any part of this post. I appreciate any and all input. Thank you.

I believe your half dollar would be the CONECA listed 64PR DDO-002, FS-101 (13.2). Attached are some photos of the 64PR DDO-002 from my collection, may be they can help you with an attribution. I only collect Kennedy Half Dollars and wouldn't be able to help you with you Roosevelt dime.
