Hmmmm, now that's interesting!Originally posted by Kloccwork419 View PostWrong again. Not sure why you’re here. Because you have an elongated ray and think your special?
This forum was here before they took over attributions. Can tell with the couple comments already you have no idea what you’re talking about and came here just to run your mouth.
So keep doing it, I wont see your next comment because the ignore option works great here. So keep crying
to whoever will listen. I wont see it

I am closing this thread. It has run its course. I may delete it all together. Everyone here has alienated everyone else. If you don't like it, keep your rude comments to yourself.

Thanks very much Gary!! That's all I'm really looking for. Reasonable answers to some questions. Not some hyperdolic crap from this guy Kloccwork419!Originally posted by MintErrors View Post
Yeah, I am familiar with it. I had a lady come up to me at the biggest show in Virginia, the VNA in September 2021. She had one, it was raw probably border line Au-UNC. I had to surf from varietyvista to this small dollars website to find the article.
The small dollar website also was a good reference for the 1999 VIP strikes for the 2000 Sacagawea coins.
The article has some additional info, but nothing earth shattering. In my opinion, this condition probably didn't catch on in time. I personally don't know any modern small dollar collectors at all - minus me doing a PF69 Sacagawea set.
I think the edge lettering craze that is dying on the vine may have been the fruit of all evil. The sheer amounts of the common ones made all the collectors simply say "oh hum" and many people pass on even looking for anything additional on the small dollars =\ OR they simply looked at edge lettering until their eyes crossed and didnt bother looking for anything else.
IF it was probably a tooling issue and if so, it was probably a single die. I know dies can last about 325,000 strikes for a quarter, and the dollars are close to that same size. Problem is we don't know if the elongated ray was there for all the strikes or was taken out of the machine, maintenance was performed on the die and placed back into service for a while. There are a lot of "unknowns".

I came here because I thought CONECA dealt with varieties. It's nice to see/hear someone else is familiar with this coin. Your detailed explanation has filled in some blanks.
Who is this guy Kloccwork419 and why does he have a hair up his ass? Is he that rude to other member here? He seems kinda sensitive and emotional about coins. He's probably hiding under his desk! : )
Thanks again for the feedback!Last edited by HeartWith02; 03-19-2022, 11:09 PM.

Would you mind explaining to me EXACTLY how I'm playing games here?? I'm not refusing to post pictures!! Pictures have nothing to do with the question of this thread! Did you actually read my first post and see the subject line??....probably not!
The question is and was: Have any of you guys ever seen one of these actually attributed? For a 2007-P George Washington Dollar - Elongated Third Ray on the Reverse.
Again, the question has nothing to do with pictures!
Let me ask you a question: Are you even familiar with this coin?... Probably not. That's why you're accusing me of playing games, because you don't have an answer to my question. If you don't have an answer, just say you don't know. Don't attack me!! I don't appreciate you accusing me of playing games! You get my point??

They're busy doing other things and attributions aren't even ready yet.......... So what are they doing? What's the point of this forum?Originally posted by Kloccwork419 View PostCONECA higher up are busy doing other things than being on a forum. Attributions arent even ready yet.
This isn't a listed "Variety". YET. So no, none will be graded as that. I have heard its going in the new CPG which I have no clue why. This will end up being some other made up CPG variety like the Re Engraved Lincolns or the No FG. Probably be huge when it's released and then end up being worth less than the plastic its in. You would be better off keeping it til the CPG is released for a #. Then youll have all them FS chasers on it.
You heard it's going to be in the new CPG and you have no clue why........ Maybe because the author and "real attributors" say it's a new variety.
You might be right, it could be another made up CPG variety......... or maybe another Cheerios dollar.
But you're right, it's not a listed "Variety" YET!
This is as HIGH as a "CONECA" variety has gotten. ICG!Attached Files

Let me ask you a question. How many "CONECA" attributers actually review, monitor or read this forum/website?

Your welcome.Originally posted by mustbebob View PostNow that was not difficult. As 'Thick" as you think I am, and as much as you wanted to make this more than what it was, all I wanted was a photo. Thank you very much for posting that photo. Now that I know exactly what you are talking about, I can tell you that I do indeed know about this coin (sorry to disappoint you).
I have examined others with so called 'extra rays', but I have NOT examined this one in hand. No examiner that I know has added this to their files because of the uncertainty surrounding it. As you know, It is not like the standard 'extra ray' as seen on some other dates (8th ray, curved ray etc.).
Thanks once again for adding the photo. I appreciate it.
