    Interesting 1970S LMC

Found something that appears to be either die deterioration or perhaps a die gouge. Nothing valuable but it is interesting IMHO.

At first I thought the lower part of the "L" in "LIBERTY" was doubled because the anomaly was rounded not flat shelf-like. Nothing else about the coin however has any doubling, which leads me to the above conclusion.

At first I was thinking DDO-026 but the lower portion of the mintmark does not look the same.

Yep. I did not check coppercoins and I did find it there. The die markers on the revers match up too. Coppercoins has it as a 1970S1DO004. Thanks for the help.

I am glad I posted it. I almost dismissed it as nothing special. Thank you for the help attributing it.

I checked a few more rolls and found 15 total of the above example.

I also found another variety, which I will post separately.
