CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

One minor thing, DDO's and RPM's are classified as Varieties. I don't know if the staff will move this post or not.

Location for DDO-001 does not match up. since the pick up points are cast in metal dies, they don't move, it becomes "stamped" onto the coin and is almost an exact copy, thus the area needs to look extremely close to the same thing.

To me the very end of that "original" 2 is quite thin, and the other area may be at a lower height. That tells me it is is a strong candidate to be mechanical doubling.

In a blunt statement....if ALL that area in question would be the same width of the original two, would it be a single good looking "2" ? I would say yes.
