I was looking at this dime under my scope when I noticed the MM, it appears to be an RPM to me but I'm really not great at spotting these things so I am hoping someone can help me confirm or deny it. I have checked VarietyVista, Doubleddie.com, and a few other sources to match it up but I have been unable to so far. It looks to me like it goes NE, what do you think? I'm struggling to understand how to spot these so any information helps.

1955 S/S Dime RPM?
Good evening everyone!
I'm struggling to understand how to spot these so any information helps.Tags: None

It does not look like one to me. IF they used the exact same punch, one of your areas you point to is lower to the top North east and the other is higher to the south west. The extra looking "bump section in the lower curl is not part of another mintmark.
I suggest since you have the coin in hand, go to http://varietyvista.com and see if you can find a near exact match. It cannot be close enough, these were struck in metal so its vital to understand that this has to be almost an exact match. It appears there are just two or that year and mint mark. It is vital to notice the exact positioning of the mintmark as well. Those were punched into the working die, so they too are "set in stone".

Your coin's mint mark seems to sit slightly higher and closer to the torch than the two examples listed on Variety Vista.Last edited by MintErrors; 02-25-2022, 07:08 PM.Gary Kozera
