1950S/S ROOSEVELT DIME RPM-006?
I am looking at a nice 1950S Roosevelt Dime. It looks very similar to the pics on VV for RPM-006. I have chased this one around and around and around. I have finally landed on RPM-006. There are some die markers present as 1. Reverse Die scratches North-South through 'P L U' of EPU. 2. Obverse Die scratches on the neck behind ear. The die markers on the subject coin do not look as obvious as those on the pictured coin. The pictured coin looks like it has a fair amount of toning and may account for that. I wish I had a second set of pics to compare but nothing on Richards Roosevelt Review or DD. As an added bonus it looks like it could be a Full Bands coin too. Thoughts or comments?Tags: None

This looks close. I was looking to see if I could match the die scratches up between your coin and variety vista and I could not. The EPU scratches may, but your photo is a higher magnification than the one on variety vista.
The "S" on variety vista seems like it is a bit farther to the west and up a bit.
The variety vista one also looks like it may be a little farther away from the torch.
Another thing, on variety vista there is a separation line on the "S" at the top curve heading toward the middle of the "S". To me, yours looks different.
Others should chime in as well. It could be a match, it's just the different angles, lighting and magnification can throw off the distances.Gary Kozera

Hello Gary, I have matched up the pics on VV (left side of merged pic) with the subject coin. The die scratches on the subject coin in my opinion do not line up with those on the VV coin. The subject coin on second look does not appear to be RPM-006. The coins die scratches do not seem to match with any other VV RPM. The first few listings (RPM-001-3) are very vague and show no die markers. Thoughts or comments?Last edited by rbroederer; 03-24-2022, 06:09 PM.

Your coin appears to have a split upper serif, but its tough to know for sure.
Any die marker can change in between die stages, this coin maybe have been a later die stage, if it turns out to be an RPM.
IF it is a new RPM, your coin may be too minor for CONECA to list. I know Jason C. doesn't like to see just split serifs, but maybe under the right conditions this coin can show more. I do not know.
I don't know if there may be another website out there that has this one listed, if it is an rpm.
I don't know if John Wexler is taking submissions any more, but you may send him an email and a few key photos and see if he would attribute it via email, or can answer a few questions in the email and determine if it is a RPM. Then he may ask you to send it to him if he thinks it has a chance.Gary Kozera
