CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1951 D Lincoln/wheat cent, RPM

This looks to me to possibly be one of these RPMs. 008, 009 or 020. Your opinion is much appreciated!

The positioning of the mint mark play a big part on attributing Lincoln cents.

Second would be to look at the other photos and see if you can match it up to a die stage, which show something signicant that was done to the die that has been documented with other verified RPMs.

I believe it to be the Coneca rpm-008, it has a counter clockwise rotation with a triple punch that I am not photographically able to show clearly. I will review die stages to further self verification. Thanks

To clarify...the position is where the mintmark was hammered into the die and sets on the die itself. So that mintmark on the coin might be a tad a bit closer to the 9 in the date or what ever other location information the coin shows. Matching that up first is the start. Then seeing what stage it might be. Last case for solid attribution in an overlay tp see if the mintmark is spot on.

I have a few minutes, let me go to varietyvista and see if this could match up to something.

Varietyvista comes in as a “not secure” site. Can varietyvista be accessed thru this Coneca sight, I could not find such access in the Member’s access points.

I think the reason the http://varietyvista.com website is not secure is mindset. It's an educational site, not one you are going to use PII or credit card info.

From here go to the top left , and choose forums.
              at the very bottom.

There is a list of numismatic websites.
