I understand that these 2 coins are composed of the same (95% copper and 5% zinc, weight 3.11 gm) my concern is that the one that has nothing should weigh less than this one (1980 2.53 gm) however the other weighs (2.89 gm) I would appreciate your opinion gentlemen

Environmental damage.
They've been in the ground.
They are basically worthless, the pitting gives that away.

Once they in they are in the ground all bets off that they are going to weigh normal.
