CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1964 AH DDR Kennedy Half Dollar

Here is another coin I have saved in my “Too Minor to List” box of coins that was submitted to CONECA back on April 02, 2012, but it had the additional comment of “Borderline”.

Description: Light triple spread on UNITED STATES OF, HALF DOLLAR, and stars under from K-5 to K-12

Tim... your photos all match what I have in my collection as the 64PR AH DDR-005, note the attached photo of the die scratches on the rim between B and E of LIBERTY. I think the question is does mine match the CONECA listed DDR-005? I think it matches the description in the CONECA Listings exactly, it is stage B.

        Larry,

Is your coin verified by James Wiles? Reason I’m asking is when I sent our coin to him back in 2012, I question if the coin could be either the DDR-004 or DDR-005 because those two we were still looking for which is still the case. Wiles noted: “DDR is too minor to list. Borderline, but no markers.” I notice a couple of faint die scratches, one on each side of the first T in STATES, I will try again to get a picture of them.
