104 is very rare. 104 is different with doubling going the opposite direction...people look at prices on 104 and immediately think they got one.... not so fast.
72 year was plauged with issues. The master hub had a doubling, which is pretty much worthless since it accounted for more that 50% of the coins minted...almost a billion of them. In my opinion, the way I tell if the 72 is a doubled die, is that you should see doubling on LI; in LIBERTY.
IF the T in LIBERTY looks odd, almost a top cross bar bulge, it's probably master hub doubling. Another to look for are the T's in TRUST. If it is a master die doubling, the Ts aren't about twice as thick as a normal T.
Many people call the worthless one billion worthless master hub doubling issue either 104 or 105...

Hey Steve, hope you are having a great day. Happy that this is not as you suggest because the FS 102 is fully doubled on all the letters of liberty, the FS 104 is doubled strongly on the first four letters of liberty as is the penny in my possession, also the die marker on Lincolns bust on the FS102 is absent on this coin. There are also worn die cuds left of liberty- due to die state and as a result of circulation.
