  • 1907 Indian Head Penny DDR?

After my miscalculation on the 1943 penny I'm a little more hesitant to make a call on this 1907 IH penny. Looking at Snow 55, left wreath doubling looks very similar. However, there appears to be doubling in additional places than those mentioned in Snow 55.

Left wreath is too worn to look for doubling on viens. PMD above first S makes it impossible to tell if there is a die crack there. But I'm 99% certain there's no RPD or at least not like the one mentioned on the obverse of Snow 55, meaning if this is indeed a DDR, it may be a different variety.

I look forward to your feedback.

Oh and the denticles look weird in some places, almost like they have some doubling. I am not familiar with how these are added or if that would even be possible but just wanted to mention it.

On the obverse... is there a (minor) die crack from the first S in STATES to the rim ?
On the reverse, do the points of the shield touch the denticles ?

Denticles are part of the die design.
The rim was done by the upsetting mill.
All of the design is die related.

1907 had a boatload of varieties...

Per OP, "PMD above first S makes it impossible to tell if there is a die crack there."

Shield is pictured in post #3.

I think the arrow heads from post 1 pics are the most convincing among the bunch.

Look up Longacre doubling. That is a possibility, in my opinion.
Also photos that require more than 10x power typically are considered minor.
