CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1982 No FG Kennedy Half Dollar

    I was getting ready to send in this coin for grading then noticed a strange mark on the coin. Not sure if it’s just circulation damage or something that happened when minting the coin. The coin is in great condition otherwise. Thoughts?

    post-strike damage, could have happened at the mint but not a mint error. a common occurrence from many coins with a lot of weight hitting each other in tubs, boxes, bags or whatever they store them in. it is from the reeds of another coin.
