Hello 2797793. Unfortunately both coins are standard close AM. even close AM cents can have a slight space between the A and M. There are a few things that are different between the Wide AM and Close AM design. the AME, the TAT, the shape of the FG and the distance of the FG from the memorial....... get a 1990 cent (always a Wide AM) and a 1994 cent (always a Close AM)... use this pic to see the differences....
