CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

I've looked 100 times and still can't tell

    I've looked 100 times and still can't tell

    I read and watched and studied the accented hair from the 64 half dollar and I just can't tell on the coin.
    I need a better coin scope...my eyes are terrible

    you gotta know where to look. there are a few pups. some people can just look at the hair but for me it is the last place i look.

    what does a search on the interwebs say?

      I just can't tell... I guess if I can't see it, its not there? I have looked at pictures looked at others without the hair side by side and still couldn't tell.

        They say if you think you have one, you can compare the FG initials on the bak. The accented hair will not have a serif on the G. Compare to another 1964 Kennedy.

          MintErrors that is not a reliable PUP...that reverse... RDV001 was used on proofs, circulation P and D coins that do not have the accented hair. it helps, but should not be the only thing.

            Hello Bonnie... first off the accented half is only on Proof coins.... second th I in Liberty has a broken serif, and the hair has a wishbone effect. As stated it has the RDV-001 reverse... but this reverse can be on a 1964 P, 1964 D, and a 1964 Proof that dose not have the Accented hair, and a 1964 proof that does have the accented hair...

              This was quite helpful, the G was much easier to see and identify! It is not accented hair. thank you!
