I don't know if anyonelse reported this and or noticed this but in addition to the U and the tilde and the couple of letters and Stars being different- I think the W MM has changed for 2008 also.
Here are some pics of the 2 coins I have.
The first 2 pictures are the W on the 2008/2007W Rev and the last two are the 2008/2008W ASE.
They look different to me, especially the top crossbars of the W and the width of the letter seems bolder on the 2007 versus the 2008.
