CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1974 D LMC misplacement mark

    Mint Mark seems to be off quite a bit. Do collectors look for something like this?

    An acceptable area for the mintmark is anywhere in the field, south of the date. This still fits within the US Mint tolerance, even though it is lower. Nothing special, a normal coin. Do people collect these? Maybe, but they probably wouldn't pay much, if anything at all for something like this. It's not a variety nor an error.

      that is pretty neat for what it is. i think if i sat up at shows, i could find a spot for things like this for people to gander at. a conversational piece.
