  • 1994 -P 1c STRONG DDO & DDR but with missing elements

    Hi ALL!

Here's one of my finds. Hope I identifiedthe errors correctly.

    - Does the Mint use automated polisher?
    - Don't they inspect after polishing? Or after the fix (if broken)?
Or do they fix such mfg glitches?
    - How many would have they minted before inspection/finding out the
    boo-boo of their work?
    - Same question for contaminated die.

Just to get a feel of our low tech (or is there more advanced than the US Mint plants) minting process.

    Thanks,
    J

The coin was struck through a lubricant coating, possibly grease or oil. Very common.

      Thanks Mike!

      I now have distinction...

      - Just want to add that unusual attribute to the strong DDO & DDR
      anomalies of this coin.

      Thanks,
      J
