CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2000 Trails

    This was the best photo I could get, It's hard to get it to show up good with a microscpe. The trails are on all the letters in Liberty.

    Congratulations - you have found a trail die and one that I do not have listed in the files. Although there is one for this date from Philadelphia, it doe not have the offset direction that yours does.

    If you would like, you can send it down to Florida and I'll enter it into the files, however, that is up to you.

      - Being novice (with a tiny bit of knowledge on this TRAIL DIES) ) and
      learned a few tips just this week, have been finding things
      among my collections -> that AS IF a partially opened can of worms has
      tagged along with this ERROR TYPE.

      - So just a heads-up...Please bear with me if I might post on and off
      questions on this subject soon.
