CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Are all known doubled dies listed?

Hello my name is Rich I’m new and would like to ask if all the known doubled dies are listed on Variety Vista or could there possibly be more yet to be discovered?
I see there is not many listed for quarters 2020 and newer but I might possibly have some I emphasize possibly since my knowledge is limited on doubled dies.

    thank you so much

In my opinion, yes most are listed. Since 2003 to now, quality control and quality assurance are extremely tight.

The US Mint now use a single squeeze method to make the working dies. Its under a higher pressure and transfers the image from the master die to working dies in one pressing. So anything 1996 to now is different die making method.

There may be some minor finds out there. One other place to look for some minor Doubled dies (DDO or DDR) is

Die varieties such as doubled dies, Repunched mint marks (RPMs), Over Mint Marks (OMMs), Repunched Dates, Overdates, coin design varieties, as well as regular coins and error coins.

Anything is possible, but discovery pieces are extremely hard to find.

The CONECA rules also state one coin per post. Feel free to post your questions in the appropriate forum. If you think its a doubled die, they belong in the Varieties forum.

    Happy hunting.

Thank you for that information much appreciated.
So is there only 2 forums Variety and Mint Errors?
I'm still learning how to use this site and it’s not the easiest to figure out yet. I’m sure in time it will be much simpler for me. I hope I don’t do anything wrong to upset anyone. I really do have lot’s of questions and quite a few coins that I have questions about like what forum would I use if I have a coin that looks Zinc and another that is copper quite dirty but it sounds like a different metal when you drop it compared to a copper.
i also have foreign paper and coins from my grandfather’s collection. I’ve tried to research some of it and some of it seems to be worth ok money nothing to go crazy over but I just want to be thorough. There is also a 1904 O Morgan dollar a 1922 Peace dollar so you can see I’m in over my head and really looking for help.

      Thank you again
      Rich

There are online price guides to help you out.
You can ball park the coin's grade yourself by visiting

          https://www.money.org/official-grading-standards/

Unless the coin is super rare all you need with the common/uncommon years is a ball park grade.

You really need to know where the mintmark would be on each coin type you are researching. Some mints may have significantly lower mintages which may cause the coin to be more valuable. If you can find any version of the pocket guide of "The Red Book", I believe that shows the location of mint marks and may even give you the mintage for each year and yes, values.

From there you can visit Numismedia's Fair Market Value price guide.

          http://www.numismedia.com/rarecoinprices/fmv.shtml

Pcgs.com and NGCcoin.com have prices guides as well. But the Numismedia FMV might be the better of them all.
