CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1957d cent doubled face

    Im new and have a1957d cent with massive doubling on face lips forehead is there a ddo that year like that does anyone know?

    More than likely you are looking at machine doubling, which is common and not hub doubling or a doubled die.

    I would suggest taking a look at the pictures provided on Coppercoins site for there are some DDOs, however, none that match your description of what you have.

      Thank you for your reply. Ive searched the web for three years and a few books, but never see anything like that. Ive read a lot of Ken Potter, Coneca and more but no deep cut, second profile like this one on any year.
      I get the machine VS. Hub-Doubling ( great works all of you guys) and its probably machine, but if you ever come across anything like that please contact me. The forehead, nose, lips, and massive chin are stunning! Thanks again.
