1958-D penny question please

Looks like a doubled 8 on obverse and struck through on the reverse?

Looks like a circulation hit on the 8 of the date, you can also see a hit on the 5. And it looks like a minor struck through grease on the reverse.

I agree with PNW. The 8 is much skinnier than normal. Usually that is a sign of strike doubling or mechanical damage of some sort. This appears lower, shelf or step like.

There are only two DDOs on variety vista, and neither look like the coin you have.

The reverse appears to be a minor struck through grease, as PNW stated.

The coin is well circulated, so it is bound to be plagued with circulation damage as well. In any event, it is damage, in my opinion, on the obverse.
