CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • Worth grading?

    Is this coin worth grading? Photo_Magnifying 29.12.2022 12_45_27.png Photo_Magnifying 27.12.2022 20_21_58.png Photo_Magnifying 27.12.2022 20_21_10.png

Ummm this decision is up to you.

If you look at that coin with the spots and chatter on the coin, it may sway any desire to send it in. It's a common year. Depending on the third party grading company you send in to, it will cost close to 5 bucks to mail it to them, at least 19 bucks for slabbing and grading plus another 24 bucks shipping it back to you. Unless that coin comes back as a RED gem BU, you may be losing some serious return on investment.

This is a question you can and have to answer yourself. The link below is only one of two grading companies that show value for slabbed coins. There are a few websites that offer prices as well, but I am pretty sure the extremely high grade will have to be achieved to come close to breaking even.

Good luck with whatever decision you choose.
