Mint errors cover a wide swath of various mishaps and calamities that occur during some part of the minting process and leaves evidence on a stuck coin.
Errors are diagnosed by an examiner (and sometimes by an attributer). Errors are not typically cataloged, unless they are die related such as CUDs and Clashes.
Error coins are defined thru a working knowledge of the minting process - error coins ARE NOT errors on the basis that one cannot explain how a coin was damaged (Post Mint Damage).
A variety is an error and there really is no fully excepted definition that separates them. Varieties are typically related to a die mishap that happened pre installation (like an RPM or doubled die).
Please do your best and post ERROR COINS in this section.
