  • 1870 Canada 5 cent die cracks?

Hi all,I found this old beauty in my jar of coins, and I thought I would put it away in a little better home , when i noticed what appear to be cracks. A couple of them , really, and looks like they probably didnt use it may more times, before they got Victoria's image. My first, and only, silver Canadian nickel, with neat cracks, to boot.

Ok,sorry photos arent the best, one crack makes it say victopia almost Ill grab better pics. The thing that had me thinking cracked die, was, the reverse side was not affected anywhere, so it only appears theres any damage on the obverse side of the coin. I know a LOT can happen over a coins lifetime, and to think this coin may have seen the Klondyke gold rush in a miners pocket, what a time to be alive! I hope these are a little better for you, again sorry for quality, and thank you for taking your time for looking at it. Its pretty neat old silver nickel, the only one I own, and I want to say ive got a dollar into it, for a piece of history is the astonishing part to me, 2 world wars and its still floating around, I feel itstime to give it a better home, haha!

nice close-ups. looks like it is working it's way to becoming a shattered die and/or bisected/split. (aka yes, die cracks lol)
