My question is what would be the next step to go forward with this DDO coin. Do I need to get it authenticated to be sure its legit. Don't know of anyone to send Foreign coins to. Thanks for any advice 20221226_162140.jpg 20221226_162744.jpg 20221226_162821.jpg

2001- brazil 5 Centavos DDO
Hi, see there's a Foreign forum. I have put this coin on NGC forums site, was told looks like a DDO, but know nothing about these.
My question is what would be the next step to go forward with this DDO coin. Do I need to get it authenticated to be sure its legit. Don't know of anyone to send Foreign coins to. Thanks for any advice 20221226_162140.jpg 20221226_162744.jpg 20221226_162821.jpgTags: None

Inn my opinion, I looked at numista.com and did not see any listings for this country, year and denomination. My concern here is, is it a doubled die, or is the area affected by the working die having a lot of die cracks? The die may have shifted some if the die was cracked enough to alter the strike.
I don't personally know enough about the minting process of Brazil to assess this accurately, but it does appear to be doubling. I am just not sure from what.Gary Kozera
