CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Paper Money Question

    I know that this is a coin forum but perhaps someone can answer a question concerning a 1 Peso Bank of Mexico note.
    It is from the 3rd emission, no date, printed by the American Bank Note Co..
    In circulated condition, no damage, just a little wear.
    Wonder as to it's worth.
    Once again, I appologize for using this coin forum for this question.
    Any help would be appreciated.

      Common cents,

      I did a quick search for Mexican paper money and this site has a large list with pictures available. If I knew the date of your note then I could give an approx. value. So anyways, go to ATSnotes.com and you can probably locate what your looking for and any others that you may have.

          Hi Lestrrr, I see how helpful you were to CommonCents and hoping you may be able to help me with a currency error question concerning a 1996 $100 Federal Reserve Note Serial Number AB 98095271 D, the number 1 only being partially printed. Is this an error or something commonly seen? I also have 2 Canadian 1936 cent coins one looks normal the other appears to have a faint dot after the date is this a 1936 dot cent?

            Hello AZ,
            According to the 61st edition of Charlton's Standard Guide of Canadian Coins, the "dot" on a 1936 Cent is very rare. The location of the dot however is below the date and between the 9 and the 3. The dot was an indicator that the 1,10 and 25 cent coins were actually struck in 1937 from 1936 dies.
            Once again according to the guide, only 3 examples are known to exist, all in mint state condition. It also states that circulated examples have come to light recently, but none have been authenticated.
