I have a Walking Libety coin with a wire embedded in it. I have been told that it is a scratch , but if you could take a closer look I think you will agree , it is obviously a wire.
When this coin was minted it was common to use a wire brush for cleaning the hubs between strikes, and I believe this is a bristle from said brush. That makes it a mint error ..not damage right ?
I found one other coin that had a similar wire and guess what it was? It was a Walking Liberty ! In 1982 it sold for 10,000.
I have pictures of that coin that I downloaded. It looks similar , but mine looks even better.
I want to submit some photos hat I took of my coin , if you look at the end you will notice a bend or like a notch and that looks to me exactly like where it was attached to a brush. And you can clearly see that this is not a scratch because it is ABOVE the surface in spots, not concave.
Take a close look and please and give me your vote . Thank you !! Greatly appreciate the help from you guys.
