CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2001-P Vermont Quarter w/ Missing "UNITED" and "I" in Liberty on Obverse

    I recently found a 2001 Vermont quarter in my pocket change and, after looking at it, I noticed that the entire word "UNITED" and the "I" in Liberty were completely missing from the obverse, and the date "2001" was missing on the reverse. I think this is a grease error during casting, but is this something more valuable? I welcome your thoughts...

    i think a rule here is we don't discuss value but i'd say that kinda of coin has some interest but better in unc.
